Hi, my name is Jerrold and I like food…maybe a little too much. However, if you’re reading this, chances are you’re a fellow food freak, dinner devotee or kitchen warrior, so I reckon I’m in good company!
Welcome to the Jigsaw Kitchen. This is my little corner of the internet where I can unleash my weird and wonderful “creations” upon the unsuspecting public. At the time of writing, the Jigsaw Kitchen is still pretty new to the world. I think I’m a bit late to the whole food blogging party but hey – seeing as how everyone ends up in the kitchen anyway…
This blog is my outlet for creativity and experimentation in the kitchen, and if nothing else I hope that some of the ideas and recipes in these pages may help to inspire readers to unleash their own culinary potential.
The focus of the blog is mainly East Asian and Asian-inspired dishes, as that’s where my heart (and stomach) truly lie. I have Malaysian and Chinese ethnic roots, was raised in the United Kingdom, and have lived in as far flung places as Singapore and Australia. Although my appetite is truly a global affair, there will always be a place in my soul for the food of my genes. As such, I like to play around with Eastern influences and often combine those with more Western approaches and techniques to try something new.
Sometime when I think of a new idea, the first question is “Why”? The answer is inevitably “Why not?”. So that’s why I called it the Jigsaw Kitchen – it’s taking a jumble of parts with their own individual bumps and corners, and making it all fit together into something greater than the sum of its parts.
So go and explore, and may good taste and inspiration find you on your own culinary journey.
Eat and be well!
